New manager Joe Conneely has finalised his backroom team ahead of the new season.
With a week to go until the first pre-season friendly, Conneely has added a first team coach and a goalkeeping coach to his ranks.
Former Hinckley United man Kevin Wagstaff has joined as first team coach.
‘Waggy’ came through the youth systems at United before breaking into the reserves and playing a handful of games for the first team at Middlefield Lane. He also played for the likes of Gresley Rovers.
Since retiring from playing, he has gone into coaching and spent last season at Chelmsley Town as their coach, working with new AFC assistant boss Dave Dainty.
Wagstaff said: “This is where my strengths are. I’m a people person, I’m ambitious, driven and positive. All these things I try to coach to the players.
“Now being at Hinckley I feel I’ll be given the foundations, backing and support to use all these strengths to play my part in making this club strong and successful. To be back at a great Hinckley set up is exciting.”
Meanwhile, young coach Taylor Soanes comes on board as goalkeeping coach.
He has worked with former Coventry City stopper Steve Ogrizovic, and is an ambitious young coach. He works with former manager Courtney Belford at his goalkeeping school as well as at the Strachan Football Foundation.
Conneely said: “Taylor is only a young lad but he’s far more mature than his age suggests. We’re really happy to give him the chance to progress.
“He’s had a good starting point at Strachan and we’ll be better for having him around our goalkeepers this season.”
Welcome to Hinckley, Kevin and Taylor!
