Match Preview: Radford (a)

When Hinckley AFC visit Radford on Saturday, something will have to give in the meeting of third and fourth in the United Counties Division One table.

Both have soared into the play-offs from mid-table in recent weeks with Radford on a run of seven league wins on the bounce, and Hinckley on a club record run of nine.

It means at least one of those runs will have to end at Selhurst Street on Saturday.

Radford have won eight of their ten home games, Hinckley eight of their 11 on the road.

But Radford’s strength has mostly been at the back, and in narrow victories. Six of their wins have been either 1-0 or 2-1.

Only Kimberley Miners Welfare have conceded fewer goals than them, but they have also scored the fewest goals of anyone in the top ten. Jevin Seaton leads the way with seven goals while Dexter Atkinson and Ryan Smith have six each.

The Pheasants also have ex-Hinckley pair Yinka Adebowale and Joe McLaughlin, their club captain, in their side. Both featured in our 2018-19 season – centre back McLaughlin under James Jepson and goalkeeper Adebowale under John Ramshaw.

Radford play at Selhurst Street, Off Radford Road, Hyson Green, Nottingham, NG7 5AN. From M1 J26, follow the A610 towards Nottingham until reaching the ring road A6514. Turn left onto ring road, then 100 yards on the right turn into Wilkinson Street.
