Hinckley sign prolific forward Ryan Harkin

Hinckley AFC can confirm the signing of prolific striker Ryan Harkin from Coventry Sphinx.

Harkin is Sphinx’s leading scorer at step five this season having scored 11 goals in 13 starts in the league above. He’s also hit 88 for them in the last five seasons, mostly in the Midland League Premier Division – despite two of them being cut short.

The forward joined Sphinx from Coventry Copsewood in 2016, after hitting 26 goals in 25 games the previous year.

And he has been at Sphinx ever since, bar brief spells at Nuneaton Borough, where he jumped up to step three, and an eight goal in six match tenure Atherstone Town.

Manager Courtney Belford called him a great signing. He said: “He’s a proper number nine with an eye for goal. He’s a clinical finisher, will work hard for us and gives us another option.

“Him and Charlie (Evans) give us the option to possibly play with two up front. He improves us massively. With the games we’ve got coming up and a busy schedule he’s a fantastic signing.

“He’s another that the fans will like, a real poacher and goalscorer.”

Our new signing is available to make his debut in Saturday’s top of the table clash with Radford.

Welcome to Hinckley, Ryan!
