The Uhlsport United Counties League is among step six divisions to introduce promotion play-offs in the 2021-22 season.
The UCL Division One, which we are a part of, will promote two teams to step five at the end of the season.
The club finishing top of the league will earn automatic promotion. The clubs finishing between second and fifth will take part in promotion play-offs. Play-offs will be single-match ties played at the home ground of whichever side has the highest points per game ratio.
Should any of the top five clubs not be eligible, clubs down to seventh could feature in the play-offs.
This is in conjunction with the new National League System regulations which will be brought in across the country.
In total, 32 teams will earn promotion from across the 17 step six leagues – two each from most leagues, with the South West Peninsula divisions only promoting one club each. The bottom two teams in each of the 16 step five leagues will be relegated.
The bottom three clubs in each step six league will be “liable to relegation”.
