Hinckley AFC play their final match before the second lockdown kicks in when they welcome GNP Sports to Kirkby Road tonight.
AFC have recorded six consecutive wins since the end of September and will move up to second if they can make it seven on the bounce in their first ever meeting with GNP Sports.
But manager Courtney Belford says his side need to match GNP’s work rate and endeavour if they want to maintain that run. He said: “We’ve watched them a few times and know a few of the players.
“Every team at this level gives everything they’ve got and we’ve got to always match teams for work rate and commitment, then hopefully the quality shows through.
“They drew with Nuneaton Griff at the weekend which is a decent point against a side playing well. We’ve got to be able to pick the right team to play against the we know what sort of strengths and weaknesses they’ve got.”
The Coventry-based side are bottom of the table but picked up a goalless draw at the Pingles Stadium at the weekend. They won at Uttoxeter Town on the opening day to prove what they can do, but have only picked up two points since then.
But no side has played fewer matches than they have and a win would see them climb above Paget Rangers and Cadbury Athletic.
Former AFC man Ryan Murphy and ex-Lichfield striker James Taylor both have three goals apiece for them this season and are their leading scorers so far.
Up to 300 supporters are allowed again for what could be our final match for at least four weeks. Gates open from 6.45pm.
