After a first league defeat of the season in midweek, Hinckley AFC will look to get back to winning ways when Lichfield City visit Kirkby Road on Saturday, kick off 3pm.
AFC arrive into the game having drawn both home league matches so far 2-2, but tasted defeat for the first time this campaign during the last week with back-to-back league and cup losses against Studley.
Tomorrow, Courtney Belford’s men look to put that right when they welcome a Lichfield side who sit second in the early season table.
The visitors have three wins, a draw and a loss from their opening five games represents a good start for their new manager, the former Atherstone boss Ivor Green who took charge during lockdown.
And it’s an ex-Hinckley man who’s been pivotal to the good start – striker Matt Gardner played for AFC six seasons ago and has scored eight goals already in this opening month of the campaign. The former Tamworth and LA Galaxy man Kyle Patterson has also proved a talisman for them over the last couple of seasons.
