With Elliott Taylor struggling through illness, Courtney Belford has moved quickly to add competition in goal by signing former Division One winning stopper Billy Spink.
Taylor was ever-present since signing until he missed Saturday’s match at Kirby Muxloe with the flu, as young ‘keeper Zack Stretton made his Hinckley debut.
To counter that, Spink joins from Premier Division outfit Romulus where he was a regular in their side, featuring 24 times in helping them to third in the league.
Like many of that squad, he joined the Roms in the summer from Heather St John’s having been number one when they won the Division One title last season, in the same squad as Mark Williams and Niall Rowe.
He also counts Coleshill Town among his former clubs and is in contention to make his debut at GNP Sports this evening.
