Hinckley AFC go in search of back-to-back home wins when Uttoxeter Town visit the Welfare Ground this evening, weather permitting.
Subject to a 4.15pm pitch inspection after yesterday’s heavy rain and more forecast this afternoon, AFC will look to follow up last week’s comprehensive win over Chelmsley Town, in which they kept their first clean sheet since August.
They were also clinical in front of goal, especially during a first half in which they scored three times and could have arguably had more.
And they will have to repeat that display to take on a Uttoxeter side who have enjoyed a good season up until now and sit fifth in the table, seven points ahead of AFC as they chase a top four spot.
They were dealt a blow on Saturday though in defeat to Heath Hayes as they lost for just the fifth time this season.
Goals haven’t been hard to come by for the Staffordshire side this season – Jake Avery and James Curley both in double figures for the season with Kyle Esplin not far behind.
Frustrated by Saturday’s postponement at GNP Sports, Hinckley will look to continue the momentum they picked up against Chelmsley and will have Mark Williams back from suspension for the game. He’ll make his 50th appearance in an AFC shirt if he features.
