Match Preview: Paget Rangers (a)

Hinckley AFC will hope to pick up the early Christmas present of a festive three points when they visit Coles Lane to face Paget Rangers tomorrow.

AFC will be back in action away from home for the first time in seven weeks with the trip to the West Midlands, having not played a game on the road since early November’s trip to Nuneaton Griff.

Tomorrow, AFC are guaranteed a match, with Coles Lane, the ground Paget share with Sutton Coldfield Town, having a 3G pitch.

That means the surface won’t be affected by the heavy rain from the last couple of days, and have the chance to make up ground on the sides above them with many other games unlikely to take place. That’s apart from Studley’s visit to Chelmsley Town, which is also on an artificial pitch.

The Bears drew their last outing 1-1 against Stapenhill a fortnight ago, but lost their previous two games 3-1.

They are five points above the relegation zone, and will jump up to 17th with a win – while AFC will move within a point of sixth placed Atherstone if they can pick up all three points.

Ten-goal Dan Carter has been their biggest threat, while Callum Burston-Keeley and Dan Elwell have seven apiece.

If you can’t make the game, local radio station Switch Radio will have live build up and commentary from 2pm on their website – www.switchradio.co.uk.
