Hinckley AFC play a second home game in the space of five days when Chelmsley Town visit the Welfare Ground today, kick off 3pm.
After Tuesday’s hard-fought 1-1 draw with Nuneaton Griff, Hinckley are back at home hoping for three points against the side that currently sit directly above them in the table.
And manager John Ramshaw knows his side will have to be on their game if they want to take the points and leapfrog their visitors in the standings.
He said: “The reverse fixture at Chelmsley was one of our good away wins earlier in the campaign, and we expect them to be chomping at the bit to come here and get a result.
“We expected a tough game from Nuneaton Griff on Tuesday, and we got it.
“Likewise, we expect the same challenge from Chelmsley this afternoon. We can’t anticipate anything in terms of picking up points and results, this season has proved that.”
Chelmsley are a place and a point above Hinckley having played three games more than AFC, for whom a win will move them up two places if Brocton lose at Racing Club Warwick.
The reverse fixture to which Ramshaw eludes saw Hinckley come from behind back in September – Josh Spencer and Louis Hamilton scoring to turn around a half time deficit.
Chelmsley are the only side in the bottom half with a positive goal difference, but they haven’t won in five league games since beating Heath Hayes in the middle of December – their only point in that time coming in a goalless draw with Nuneaton Griff.
