Less than 48 hours after a breathless 4-4 draw with Racing Club Warwick, Hinckley AFC are back in action when Coventry Copsewood visit St John’s Park this afternoon, kick off 3pm.
On Thursday evening, AFC came from two goals down and were then two goals to the good in the second half before Warwick battled back to earn a point late on.
Today, mid-table Copsewood are the visitors with Hinckley looking to get three points on the board that will see them keep in touch with the sides above them.
The Coventry side are 12th in the table with 42 points from their 31 games, but have conceded the fewest goals of any side in the bottom half.
Copsewood also played on Thursday evening, a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Ilkeston Town, and will be looking to climb the table again after a run of one win in eight.
The reverse fixture in September saw Hinckley emerge 5-0 victors in a game where Steve Hart scored his first Hinckley goals. 42 strikes later, and the forward’s goal record is only bettered by Heather’s Simeon Cobourne this season.
Former Hinckley ‘keeper Jack Hartopp, now stands between the posts for Copsewood, and is likely to be kept busy with Hart and Luke Richards now on 63 goals between them this season.
