Hinckley AFC can confirm that Simon Mellor has taken charge of the club’s Under 18s team.
Mellor, who was a coach at the club under Carl Abbott, has considerable experience of working in development football and takes over from Dan Gibson, who has left the club by mutual agreement.
The club would like to thank Dan for his efforts while at the club, which saw his side reach the fourth round of the League Cup in a run that is still ongoing, the next round of which takes place at Newcastle Town next week.
Any 16- or 17-year-olds who would like to join the Under 18s set-up for next season or for the rest of this campaign should contact Simon on 07843 445803. Experience of playing Midland Junior Premier League, county or midweek floodlit football is preferable.
Mellor will be in the dugout for tonight’s game, which sees the Under 18s side take on a Leamington side who have won every game in the league this season. The game at Ibstock kicks off at 7-45pm.
