Hinckley AFC have been drawn at home to AFC Mansfield in the second round of this season’s Buildbase FA Vase.
Like Hinckley, Mansfield are also only just entering at this stage of the competition as a reward for an excellent run last term. They reached the fourth round before defeat by Sunderland RCA, while Hinckley reached the fifth round before falling in extra time to Buckland Athletic.
This term, both sides have started their league campaigns brightly and while AFC sit third in the Total Motion Midland League Division One, Mansfield are fifth in the Northern Counties East League Premier.
That’s one place above Worksop Town, who Hinckley beat in the extra preliminary round of the Emirates FA Cup on the opening day of the season. It also means that Mansfield play their football a level higher than Hinckley.
Managed by Rudy Funk, Mansfield have former Hinckley United left sided player Mark Dudley in their squad along with a number of players who include the likes of Alfreton Town and Gainsborough Trinity among their former clubs.
The tie will take place at St John’s Park on Saturday 11th November.
