After a fortnight away, Hinckley AFC return to league action when Bolehall Swifts visit St John’s Park this afternoon, kick off 3pm.
The break for the Buildbase FA Vase last week allowed Hinckley to build on their impressive recent form with the win at Greenwood Meadows, while Bolehall exited the competition with defeat to Shifnal Town.
With the two sides both sitting in the top eight of the Midland League First Division, it promises to be an intriguing contest.
On the back of a fine run of form, Hinckley have won five of their last six, scoring 23 goals in the process, lifting them to seventh at after seven games.
Meanwhile, Bolehall are just a point behind AFC and will leapfrog their hosts today if they leave St John’s Park with all three points.
Swifts have had a mixed start to the season results wise, and after failing to win any of their first three, they then went and scored nineteen goals in their next four games, winning them all.
They were beaten by Pelsall Villa in their last league outing, and will want to put that right with a positive result this afternoon.
In Dave Yonwin, they have a striker who regularly challenges at the top of the goalscoring lists but goals have come from a variety of sources this season. Jordan Francis (five goals) and Joe Obi (four) have started the season well in front of goal, while Kyle Turner also netted five for the Swifts before he joined Atherstone Town this week.
For Hinckley, Ryan Seal is just one goal away from becoming the first player to score 50 times for the club, but the difficulty has been in keeping clean sheets. They are yet to keep one in the league this season, but recording one against Bolehall will be a positive statement against a potent strike force.
