Following the announcement of the early season fixtures on Sunday evening, the Midland League have today confirmed the fixtures for the remainder of the Division One season.
The first batch of fixtures gave Carl Abbott’s side their matches until 1st October’s home game against Bolehall Swifts, and we now know that this will be followed a week later by a trip to Coventry Copsewood.
AFC have four consecutive home games in late October and early November, before then facing three straight away trips to Racing Club Warwick, Lichfield City and Bolehall.
There are also four consecutive games at St John’s Park over the festive period. Studley are the final visitors before Christmas, before two Leicestershire derbies between Christmas and New Year. Leicester Road visit on Boxing Day – a game which will kick off at 11-30am – before we play our away game at Heather St John’s on New Year’s Eve. AFC’s first game of 2017 sees Heath Hayes visit SJP on Monday 2nd January.
AFC have no fixture on Saturday 18th February, while the League have left Saturday 8th April blank to allow clubs to re-arrange postponed fixtures from the winter for this date.
Our previous Boxing Day opponents, Nuneaton Griff, will visit SJP in warmer conditions this season in our final home game of the season on Saturday 22nd April, before the curtain comes down on the season with a trip to Heath Hayes a week later.
