Match Preview: Highgate United (a)
It will be a meeting of two of the Midland League First Division’s form sides when Hinckley AFC travel to league leaders Highgate United tomorrow afternoon, kick off 3pm.
After winning eleven of their last twelve games, Carl Abbott’s side will be hoping to inflict a third home defeat of the season on a Highgate side who have won their last nine in the league.
The hosts are unbeaten in the league since a 5-3 defeat by Studley back in August, and in Lei Brown they possess a man who has scored 28 goals in all competitions this season.
Brown is one of only five players to have scored more league goals than Hinckley’s Matt Gardner, who has fifteen in just twelve games and has struck up a fine partnership with Marco Adaggio (eleven goals in ten league games) in recent weeks.
It promises to be a fascinating encounter at The Coppice, Tythe Barn Lane, Shirley, Solihull, B90 1PH, and the ground is easily accessible from the M42.
