Match Preview: Racing Club Warwick (a)
Hinckley AFC will hope to see the return of two key players for tomorrow afternoon’s match at Racing Club Warwick, kick off 3pm.
Manager Carl Abbott hopes that club captain JJ Melligan will be fit to play after missing last week’s match against Highgate United due to a dead leg picked up in the match against Littleton.
Abbott also hopes that striker Marco Adaggio’s registration will go through in time for him to feature in the fixture. He spent the start of pre-season with Hinckley, but only returned to the country earlier this month after playing in Australia.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s training session, Adaggio said he was hoping to make his competitive debut on Saturday. ‘Touch wood, I should be back on Saturday. As long as the clearance has gone through, I’m looking forward to getting back in the team and scoring a few goals.’
Adaggio scored 40 goals in 38 appearances for Ellesmere Rangers in the West Midland Regional League Premier Division last term, and Abbott hopes that he can become the difference between winning and losing games. ‘At the moment, we aren’t scoring when we’re on top in games. If we can go a goal up, it’s a totally different mentality, and that’s something which hasn’t really happened since the start of the season.
‘We’re often chasing games, or getting that sinking feeling that we aren’t going to get a goal when we need to get it. I think everything will change when we start to score when we’re on top in games.’
Racing Club Warwick play at Townsend Meadow, Hampton Road, Warwick, CV34 6JP.
