Hinckley AFC will target a fourth straight win on their longest away day of the season at Shawbury United on Saturday.
Now fifth after a midweek win for Bilston Town, Hinckley will look to start March as they finished February – with another win in the intriguing play-off battle.
Five sides are now separated by just 11 points with Hinckley one of them, and looking to build on last week’s win over another of those sides in Ashby Ivanhoe.
This weekend they face another away trip to Shropshire, and the longest one of the season as they travel the 83 miles to Ludlow to take on Shawbury.
United sit 13th in the table, with 11 wins and four draws from their 30 games so far, but their results against the top six have been excellent. They have drawn with Dudley Town and OJM Black Country, beaten Hinckley, Droitwich Spa and Bilston Town, and were ahead against Ashby Ivanhoe in stoppage time last month until a late Ashby double condemned them to dramatic defeat.
Former Hinckley forward Marco Adaggio has nine goals for them this season but their leading man in front of goal is ex-Stafford Rangers man Joe Cuff. Despite only signing at the start of 2023, he has played six games and scored in all of them – netting 11 in total.
That included their only goal in a 2-1 defeat to Coton Green last week – their fourth defeat in five having won five of their previous six.
Shawbury play at the Ludlow Stadium, Bromfield Road, Ludlow, Shropshire, SY8 2BN.
