Powerful young forward Sonny Sheasby earned a first-team call up after impressive form for the Hinckley AFC youth team in October 2023 – and he took his chance with both hands, grabbing a hat-trick on debut in the Leicestershire Senior Cup against Magna 73.

That was one of four appearances in our title-winning season, his first taste of senior football, before a move to Lichfield City that summer as he chipped in to their title-winning season at step five.

He continued his development with Lichfield at step four, but suffered a serious knee ligament injury in September that stunted his progress on the pitch, but he surpassed his expected recovery time and was back playing for Lichfield towards the end of the season, well ahead of schedule.
