Hinckley AFC and Heather St John’s shared four goals in the traditional pre-season curtain raiser at St John’s Park.
With Hinckley fielding a mixture of first team players and trialists, this was more about fine tuning his squad for Manager Carl Abbott.
And Abbott would have been impressed with what he saw early on, as goals from Ryan Seal and Kieran Miller gave Hinckley a two goal first half lead.
That advantage was halved late in the first period as Heather pulled one back, before the landlords levelled against their tenants after the break.
Hinckley’s next pre-season game is at Quorn on Tuesday as Carl Abbott’s side build towards Heanor Town in early August.
