Match Preview: Bromsgrove Sporting (a)
Hinckley AFC have the perfect opportunity to bounce back from last week’s defeat when they travel to The Victoria Ground to take on Bromsgrove Sporting tomorrow, kick off 3pm.
Carl Abbott’s side will be desperate to keep in touch with the sides above them having missed out on that opportunity last week when Racing Club Warwick left Leicestershire with all three points.
The Rouslers are one of those sides. Currently sitting fourth in the league table, they are seven points above Hinckley though they have played a game more, and have won five of their last six in all competitions.
But Hinckley have happy memories of the The Victoria Ground. Unbeaten at their home in the league, the only defeat Bromsgrove have suffered on their own patch this season was back in August when AFC triumphed 6-2 in the FA Cup.
In the three previous meetings between the sides, the away side has always triumphed: Bromsgrove won 2-1 at St John’s Park last season, with Hinckley returning the favour with a 3-2 win in March before that memorable match in the FA Cup.
There are also plenty of player connections between the sides. Hinckley’s Darious Darkin, Rico Taylor and Sean Williams all used to play for Bromsgrove, while after leaving AFC last week it is being reported that Nathan Walker could make his Bromsgrove debut tomorrow.
Bromsgrove play at The Victoria Ground, Birmingham Road, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, B61 0DR. Leave the M42 at Junction One and take the second exit onto the A38 towards Bromsgrove. After half a mile, turn right at the first set of traffic lights onto Birmingham Road, and after three quarters of a mile the ground is on your right.
