Hinckley AFC will face a trip to United Counties Premier South outfit Desborough Town in the third round of the FA Vase.
Now in the last 64 out of more than 600 teams to enter, Hinckley’s reward for Saturday’s win over Staveley Miners Welfare will be a trip just across the county border into Northamptonshire to visit Desborough for the first meeting between these two clubs. The tie will take place on Saturday 28th November.
Desborough didn’t enter the Vase until the first round proper but beat Westfields on penalties, and AFC Bridgnorth away to reach this stage. In the league, they sit just outside the play-off spots with 23 points from their 12 games so far.
Hinckley, meanwhile, have beaten Highgate United, Eccleshall and Staveley to reach this stage for the first time in eight years and are now just two wins away from equalling our best ever run in the FA Vase, when we got to the last 16 ten years ago.
