Staveley trip in FA Vase

Hinckley AFC have been drawn away to Staveley Miners Welfare in the second round of the FA Vase.

Our reward for beating Eccleshall on Saturday is a trip to north Derbyshire, where we will face the United Counties Division One high-flyers on Saturday 31st October.

The Trojans have already beaten three step five sides from three different divisions to reach this stage and this will be a fourth for them – having already knocked out clubs from the North West Counties League Premier, the Midland League Premier and the Combined Counties Premier North. The latest of those was a 5-1 hammering of CCL North leaders Ardley United on Saturday, after wins over Glossop North End and Stockport Georgians.

They sit second in the table, just behind leaders Clipstone, having won 10 and lost just one of their 13 league games so far – and that was in the first midweek of the campaign.

And it will be Hinckley’s second trip to Inkersall Road in two seasons, having also played Staveley away in the United Counties League Cup last season. AFC twice came from behind that day to draw 2-2 and progress on penalties – though it is a much-changed squad that will travel this time around with only Jake Tullin and Chandler Pegg remaining.
