Hinckley swoop for striker Bird

Hinckley AFC have swooped in for a forward addition after signing powerful striker Oliver Bird.

Bird joins Hinckley after recently moving to the area from Bournemouth, having scored 27 goals in 32 games last season – initially at step seven before moving up to step five with Christchurch, where he continued his impressive eye for goal.

A left-footed and powerful number nine, he took well to life in the Wessex League and will look to continue that eye for goal after his move to the Midlands.

Joint Manager Ross Innes said: “Ollie is tall, quick, powerful and left-footed which is incredibly ideal for a centre forward.

“What is most impressive about him though is his movement, and his ability to get himself into good areas to create chances for himself.

“We think he is capable of putting together a significant goalscoring run, and we are looking forward to him integrating into the group in pre-season, ready for the start of the new campaign.”

Bird added: “I’m buzzing to be joining Hinckley. After speaking with Ross and Adam, I knew this was the right place for me.

“I’m ready to get to work, score goals, and do everything I can to help bring success to the club. I can’t wait to get out there, play in front of the fans, and give my all every time I step onto the pitch.”

Welcome to Hinckley, Ollie!
