Talented forward James Spruce was a Welsh youth international during his time in the youth system at Bristol Rovers, before gaining his first taste of senior football with Gloucester City.

After his time there, he moved into the Midlands with Heather St John’s, where he plundered 30 goals on the way to a sixth-placed finish at step five four seasons ago.

And those exploits earned him a move to higher levels – featuring at step four for Sutton Coldfield Town, Gresley Rovers and Coleshill, and at step three for Long Eaton.

He joined Nuneaton in the summer of 2024, contributing 14 goals towards their step six title win in 2024/25, and having left there earlier this season, arrives at Hinckley from there via a brief stint at Sutton United.
