Szymanski among quintet of youngsters to sign on

Last season’s Supporters’ Young Player of the Year Oli Szymanski is one of five members of last season’s title-winning Under 18s side to sign first-team forms for 2025/26.

Teenager Szymanski’s first season in men’s football saw him pick up the fans’ vote after a consistent season in which he played 34 times in all competitions. Predominantly a centre-back, his versatility saw him feature at right-back and in midfield too, and he was also a key figure in the youth team’s Midland Floodlit Youth League Eastern Division triumph.

Also part of that side were pacy winger Keaton Blackbird and midfield man Caleb Yeboah, who will also continue their development and step up to join the first team.

Blackbird was a regular name in matchday squads in the second half of last season, and he marked his first senior start with a goal against Northampton Sileby Rangers in March.

Yeboah also progressed from the youth team towards the end of the season, and grabbed his maiden goal on the final day of the season against Lutterworth Town.

In addition, Cody Faulkner and Luca Bien have also signed first-team forms with the intention of going on dual registration to gain men’s football experience.
