After a spell back with the club on loan earlier this season, goalkeeper Matt Hill has now returned to Hinckley AFC after leaving Rugby Town.
The stopper has played 61 times for Hinckley, and no goalkeeper has more than his 22 clean sheets. The most recent of those was secured by a magnificent fingertip save late on at OJM Black Country in the final game of his loan spell in December.
After mutually terminating his contract at Rugby, where he played 131 times across two spells, Matt has now come back to Hinckley on a more permanent basis and could play against Ingles tomorrow.
Joint Manager Joe Conneely said: “Matt loves the club. He wanted to come back, he was brilliant in his first spell and again on loan before Christmas.
“Now he’s out of his contract at Rugby it made perfect sense to get him back. It helps having Matt back around it, someone who has experience of getting promoted from step five last year.
“We’ve got two fantastic goalkeepers so they will put pressure on each other to fight for the number one shirt. It’s horrible for a goalkeeper because only one can play. There’s pressure on both to keep each other out of the team, and both have trained well this week.”
Welcome back, Matt!
