Central player Zakim Evans joined Hinckley in the summer of 2023 having spent the previous four seasons in the Midland League Division One with Stapenhill.

He played just shy of 100 times for them in during that time, despite two of those seasons being cut short by pandemic lockdowns, and scored ten times. He was part of the Stapenhill side that reached the play-off final in 2021/22, and scored against Hinckley in the opening home game of the following season.

Described by joint-manager Joe Conneely as a player who “does a bit of everything”, he is good on the ball and combative in challenges.

Before joining Stapenhill, Zaki spent time with their local rivals Gresley, where he featured for the first team at step four.

In his first season with Hinckley, he was part of the Midland League Division One title-winning side and he was named as vice-captain that summer, before taking on the role of club captain ahead of the start of the 2025/26 season.
