Two of the league’s leading scorers and in-form sides meet on Saturday as Hinckley AFC welcome OJM Black Country to Kirkby Road.
The meeting of 5th and 4th in the division sees its two best attacks go head-to-head with both sides enjoying excellent recent runs to propel them into the play-off spots.
Hinckley boss Joe Conneely called the match “the sort of game you want to be involved in” and hopes a good crowd will be at Kirkby Road to cheer his side on.
“Black Country are flying at the moment, we’ve watched them and know a little bit about them.
“It’ll be tough but these are the games you want to be involved in, between two teams who have got the same goal at the end of the season.
“They’ll be full of confidence but we’ve won four on the bounce and are confident too.”
For Hinckley, nine wins in their last 11 league games is a return only blotted by defeats to Shawbury United and Smethwick Rangers in the last couple of months. AFC have also hit 21 goals in their last four games.
Meanwhile, Black Country’s run of ten consecutive league wins, heading back to mid-September, has seen them recover from a mixed start to top the form table.
They are seven points adrift of top side Dudley Town with a game in hand, and have already completed a seasonal double over the leaders.
Black Country also possess the league’s top marksman – 23-goal Zaqib Hussain who has hit that number in just 18 league games. He hit a hat-trick in last week’s 6-3 win over Haughmond while Casey Collins added two to take his tally to ten in just nine games. They also possess ex-Sporting Khalsa hotshot David Meese and have scored 15 in their last three league games.
They also possess the league’s third-best defence, only behind the top two Dudley and Ashby Ivanhoe.
