Hinckley AFC will hope to offer fans some Bonfire night fireworks in Saturday’s home game against Smethwick Rangers at Kirkby Road.
Hinckley’s 100% league record at home was ended by Shawbury United on Monday as their seven-match winning streak in all competitions also came to an end.
Now, Joe Conneely’s side will look to put that behind them with the visit of a Smethwick side looking to hit back after four straight league defeats.
They were beaten 6-1 at Ingles last weekend and 1-0 at Stapenhill in midweek, but have also picked up some excellent results including a win at Coton Green and a draw with Droitwich Spa.
No side has conceded more goals this season than Smethwick, but no team in the bottom half has scored more. Adam Nazir is their leading scorer with 12 goals already, having also netted 17 times last season.
New signing Danny Fraser isn’t available for Hinckley yet – and will first feature in red and blue at Belper United in the FA Vase next weekend.
But Conneely is hopeful that both Jeremie Agholor and Brandon Bache will be available after recent injuries.
This will be the first ever meeting between the two sides, with both looking for a spark to get back to winning ways.
