Twelve Days of Christmas: November & December
In the final part of AFC’s Twelve Days of Christmas, we look back at the recent events at Hinckley AFC, both on and off the pitch.
November saw wins against Pershore Town (1-0), Alvis Sporting (6-1), Coventry Copsewood (1-0) and Littleton (4-0), as well as a creditable 2-2 draw against Lichfield City with JJ Melligan deputising in goal.
November also saw our first Sportsman’s Dinner, with Tim Flowers, Matt Elliott and Ian Stringer, along with a quiz night held in Gadsby’s.
In December, Carl Abbott’s men won all four matches, with victories over Stafford Town (4-3 away and 8-2 at home), a 5-1 win over Atherstone Town and a 2-0 Boxing Day win over Nuneaton Griff.
Off the pitch, we held a commemorative carol service in conjunction with Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council and local churches, where former Porsmouth defender Linvoy Primus was guest speaker. It was a huge success, and we hope to be able to repeat the event next year.
We would like to thank all our members and supporters for your support this year – here’s to 2015 being just as successful!
