Timson looks to make summer impression

Young full back Chad Timson knows it will be a difficult task to impress Hinckley AFC’s new manager, but says it’s one that he’s looking forward to.

Timson has made an impression with three managers at the club in the last season and a half, having become increasingly more of a part the first team squad since making his debut in the FA Vase defeat at Markse in January 2018.

Since then, he has gone on to make 37 appearances for the club – more than anyone else in the current squad.

But he wants to prove his abilities to John Ramshaw’s successor and has aspirations of featuring on a regular basis again next season.

He said: “It’s going to be difficult. They (the new manager) will know their own players and if they have another right back then I’ll have to compete.”

“But I’ll try and prove my worth and hopefully I can succeed.”

Having become increasingly part of the first team squad since making his debut in the FA Vase defeat at Marske in January 2018, he was voted as the Young Player of the Season by supporters and also won Ramshaw’s Manager’s Player award.

And he says he’s noticed improvements in his game since he first came into the side.

“It was a hard game to come into, having been 5-0 down when I came on.

“But I know I’ve improved massively since then and if I keep working at it, I’ll keep getting better and I’ve noticed an improvement this year in the way I’ve played.

“It shows I’ve done well this season and I’m glad to have the manager approve of how I’ve done.”

Having

“It was difficult, starting the season on the bench for a few games and I didn’t really come on.

“But when one or two people left, it opened up a spot and I’m glad I’ve taken that chance.”
