A second away win on the bounce is the target for Hinckley AFC when they travel to Pershore Town this afternoon, kick off 3pm.
Richard Lavery’s charges will be looking to build on Tuesday’s first win of 2018, when five from Steve Hart helped them to an impressive 6-2 win at Paget Rangers.
Now, they face one of their longest away trips of the season with Worcestershire and Pershore Town the destination.
It’s a chance for AFC to continue their quest for a top four finish, but Division One is in its most competitive season to date with as many as eight or nine sides still in with a chance of finishing in the guaranteed FA Cup qualifying positions.
AFC are sixth, with 45 points from 22 matches but with games in hand on the sides above them.
For Pershore, today is the first of three straight home games and the Worcestershire side will be looking to get back to winning ways after a narrow defeat at Coventry Copsewood last week.
They had a good win over Chelmsley Town the week before and currently sit 15th in the league with 26 points from their 26 games, including seven wins.
AFC won both games between the sides last season, a 4-1 win at St John’s Park in September in a game memorable for Ryan Seal’s stunning goal from halfway, before a more battling three points in Pershore in March when AFC came from behind to win 2-1.
Pershore play at the 2020SolarPV King George V Stadium, King George’s Way, Pershore, Worcestershire, WR10 1QU.
