Match Preview: Bedworth United (h)
Hinckley AFC will be looking to return to winning ways when they entertain Southern League Division One Central outfit Bedworth United at St John’s Park tomorrow afternoon, kick off 3pm.
The Greenbacks are managed by former Hinckley United duo Stuart Storer and his assistant Andy Penny, and they have taken a number of ex-Knitters to Bedworth: Denham Hinds, Chad Degville, Sam Shilton, Danny Dubidat and Marlon Walters all now ply their trade for the Warwickshire side.
Ahead of the game, manager Carl Abbott spoke of his desire for his side to perform in the same way as they did in Tuesday night’s 2-0 defeat to Tamworth.
‘Today is another tough test against a side from a higher level, but I hope that we can acquit ourselves in the same way as we did against Tamworth on Tuesday.
‘This is the type of game we require at this stage of pre-season, where we will be tested. Then we can have a good idea of where the players are at, and what we can expect from them in in the competitive season.’
Hinckley will be still be without the unavailable Luke Richards, but Abbott is
expected to give trialists the chance to prove their worth to the side.
