Ross, Adam and Chris give their final management update of 2025 and look ahead to 2026.
Hinckley AFC Fans,
Firstly we wanted to say we hope you all had a fantastic Christmas period with your families. We’ll close out the year with a final update as we head into 2026 with plenty of opportunity.
We have learnt plenty in the process of taking on this giant of a club and being trusted to do so post a season starting, as well as plenty about football and people in general.
In football you either stand for something or you stand for nothing. And in games like Bugbrooke and Lutterworth most recently we have seen this group stand up for each other, and become more of a collective. This is a huge driving force behind any successful team we have managed, and it must be something showcased consistently across the remainder of the season. It’s a non-negotiable and a minimum requirement to play in our teams. We have not maintained that consistency as seen in the derby against Atherstone, but we will continue to improve.
We have always stood for success, and we want our lads to play with the confidence they have earned through the manner in which they run, compete and battle firstly. Ultimately we want to build a team spirit and confidence at AFC that other teams should fear, through the manner in which we play on and off the ball. We have done that in patches of a few games here and there, and we want more – especially at home.
Our positives as the year closes out: some of our performances have had fans walking away talking about how good the lads have been, how solid they are becoming, how much of a team they are already and how much they care for the shirt. When you cross that line do what you have earned the right to do.
Some opportunities for improvement: consistency in performances, putting longer winning runs together, being entertaining especially at home and scoring plenty of goals.
As we enter the new year, we do so being very close to welcoming skipper Zaki Evans, long-serving appearance record-holder Lewis Rankin, Caleb Yeboah and Prince Ogbe back into contention post injuries.
They will be like new signings, our experienced lads will be huge on and off the pitch, and our young players have more than exceeded themselves.
Let’s see if we can do what we say we will. We always try not to overpromise and under deliver, but rest assured we are grafting.
A big thank you and recognition is to be paid to our all volunteers and the committee for their commitment to improvement.
Thank you
The Management
