Hinckley AFC can confirm that Luke Jones has left the club to join fellow United Counties Premier South outfit Nuneaton Town.
Jones has opted to sign for Nuneaton after we received a seven-day approach last week.
He joined Hinckley last summer, but dual registered with Lutterworth Athletic at step six in the early part of last season to get more game time.
After returning, he went on to make 43 appearances, including 25 starts, during his time with Hinckley and scored 10 goals – most notably a last-minute free-kick to earn a draw at Yaxley in January.
Joint manager Ross Innes said: “We’re disappointed to lose Luke, but we understand his reasons for leaving, to go and play for his hometown club, and finances are involved too. He conducted himself really well about the move so we wish him all the best.”
Thanks for your efforts with Hinckley, Luke!
