Hinckley AFC have completed moves for Callum Martin and Christian Ngueusseu.
Left-sided defender Martin played for the club in 2020 and 2021, featuring 22 times across the second covid-curtailed season and the one after.
He scored one goal, in the 3-0 win at Stafford Town, before leaving for Coventry Sphinx, where he featured 40 times in their United Counties Premier South winning season.
Having gained step four experience with Sphinx, he spent a brief spell with Newport Pagnell Town last term and now returns to Kirkby Road.
With Adam Barber the only left-back in the squad, Martin adds another option in that position with step five experience.
Manager Joe Conneely said: “We didn’t get to see the best of Callum when he was here before. He had some things which he ironed out after leaving and he’s a different player now.
“We always knew he had the ability to go and shine. He needed something fresh at that time and made a success of it, but we’re really pleased that he’s come back now. He gives us options to be able to change shape too if we need to, and not be quite so rigid with how we set up.”
Meanwhile, Ngueusseu is a winger who joins from Allexton and New Parks, where he has been their standout player at step six so far this season.
A wide man in the Isa Abraham mould, he will offer a pacy and direct threat with Abraham still injured for another couple of months.
Conneely said: “We’ve watched him a couple of times for Allexton and he’s been their best player all season. He probably hasn’t scored as many goals as he should have, but he’s very lively and tricky.
“He’s a local Leicester lad and is looking forward to the challenge ahead, and we’re excited to see what he can do for us.”
Welcome back, Callum, and welcome to Hinckley Christian!
