Hinckley AFC head to Godmanchester Rovers tomorrow looking to record back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
AFC will look to follow up last week’s victory over Histon with another in Cambridgeshire as they play a first ever meeting with Godmanchester.
And after a week to recover from that game, Hinckley will go in search of another three points to build on the promising start to the club’s first season at step five.
The opposition
Godmanchester sit bottom of the table after their opening eight games, albeit only on goal difference from Oadby Town.
They have lost five in a row in all competitions, but their only win of the season was an impressive one. They are the only side to have beaten March Town so far, proving they can more than match it with the sides towards the top of the table.
They did look set for another win, but Eynesbury Rovers grabbed a stoppage-time equaliser in a 3-3 draw to deny them victory. That, however, remains their only other point.
Scoring goals (they have 12 in their eight league games) hasn’t been too much of a problem, but they have conceded 28 – more than anyone else in the division.
Josh Hales leads the way with four goals, and is one of eight players to have scored so far.
