Goalkeeper Carl O’Neill has returned to Hinckley AFC ahead for the 2024/25 season with Divin Emmanuel to compete with him for the number one shirt.
Following the departures of Brandon Bache and Matt Hill, Joe Conneely and Courtney Hunter-Belford have secured a mixture of youth and experience in goal ahead of our United Counties Premier South campaign.
O’Neill played 21 times for Hinckley under Richard Lavery in 2018 and left that summer to join Atherstone Town.
He has spent every season since with the Adders, playing more than 150 games for them and helping them to the Midland League Division One title and establishing them at step five.
He was also part of two runs to the quarter-finals of the FA Vase, including one against our new league rivals Newport Pagnell Town. Before playing for AFC, he featured for Coventry Sphinx and Coventry United as well as a brief spell with Nuneaton Griff.
Meanwhile, teenage stopper Emmanuel spent four years on the academy at Aston Villa and has featured in all of our five pre-season friendlies.
He was at Racing Club Warwick for the last two seasons, featuring for their academy sides and learning from first-team ‘keepers.
Welcome back Carl and welcome to Hinckley Divin!
