The second part of Hinckley AFC’s Easter weekend double header sees a first ever visit to Sutton United on Easter Monday.
AFC made it three wins on the bounce by beating Nuneaton Griff on Saturday, and now travel to Sutton United for the very first time.
The opposition
Sutton have had a solid first season at step six, and will finish in mid-table following their promotion to this level last season. A total of 12 wins and 11 draws puts them 11th in the table, with 47 points from their 34 games.
They were involved in one of the games of the season on Saturday, sharing a 5-5 draw against Chelmsley Town in which they were 3-2 up at half time before Chelmsley hit back.
They were beaten 2-0 at Ingles before that, but prior to that recorded an impressive 1-0 win at Wednesfield. Their last home win also came against one of the sides above them, downing Heather St John’s in February.
They were also the only side to win at Droitwich Spa this season until Hinckley did the same last week, proving their capabilities against sides at the top.
Only one player in the division has scored more than Joe Gildea’s 27 goals this season, while Sam Price has chipped in with seven.
Previous meetings
The sides have met twice already this season, both at Kirkby Road in League and Cup. The sides shared a 2-2 draw in Division One in October, before Hinckley won 6-0 in the League Cup just a week and a half later.
