The winners of Hinckley AFC’s League Cup quarter-final with Romulus tomorrow will visit Premier Division high-flyers Highgate United in the semi-final.
Highgate sit fifth in the Premier Division, though they could go third if they win their games in hand, and boast former Hinckley trio Ryan Harkin, Ben Vallance and Liam Cairns in their squad this season.
Cairns and Vallance played when they beat Tividale 4-0 in the quarter-final of the League Cup, having also seen off Division One pair Droitwich Spa and Cradley Town in the competition this season.
The other semi-final will see Premier Division leaders Congleton Town host either second-placed Lichfield City or Wednesfield, who are the only other Division One side left in the tournament.
Should we beat Romulus at Kirkby Road tomorrow, a date with Highgate will be arranged in due course. Hinckley haven’t met Highgate since a 2-2 draw in April 2015 in Division One, the year Highgate were promoted.
