Versatile player Harry Sawyer has returned to Hinckley AFC on dual registration from Sutton Coldfield Town.
Equally comfortable in midfield or on the right side of defence, Harry played 14 times during our run to the United Counties play-off final two seasons ago.
He scored his only goal in our 5-0 win over Dunkirk and left to join Sutton Coldfield that summer, remaining with the Royals ever since – but found game time limited recently under new manager Cameron Stuart and has now returned to AFC.
Joint Manager Joe Conneely said: “We’re delighted to get Harry done. He’s a fantastic footballer who’s been playing at step four for the last season and a half but hs found his game time limited at Sutton Coldfield so has decided to come back to us.
“He’s a great kid who I know well and will be a massive asset for us going forward. He’s a versatile player who can play a number of positions so will fit in well with the group.”
Now 25, Harry played nearly 100 times for Coventry United across a four-year spell at step five before joining Hinckley.
An athletic and technically gifted full back, he was named as United’s Supporters’ Player of the Year in 2019/20 and also worked with Conneely at Rugby Borough before earning his move to step five.
Welcome back, Harry!
