Hinckley AFC have re-signed goalkeeper Matt Hill on a month-long loan from Rugby Town.
With Ryan Young unavailable due to personal reasons and Brandon Bache still struggling with a hand issue, Joe Conneely and Courtney Hunter-Belford have moved quickly to add a well-known face on a short-term deal.
The former AFC stopper joined initially in September 2020 and was an ever-present in the club’s run to the United Counties League play-off final two seasons ago, before returning to Rugby that summer.
There, he helped Valley win promotion from the United Counties Premier Division and started the season as their number one at step four before losing his place.
Conneely said: “Ryan is having a bit of time off for personal reasons. Brandon is still struggling with his hand, he helped us out on Saturday when he shouldn’t have played really so we had to get a goalkeeper in.
“Matt’s a brilliant goalie and a brilliant person, a good character to have around. He’ll be pleased to be back as well, he played his best stuff here and got a good move off the back of it.
“He loves the club, and the fans love him. We didn’t want him to leave but we understand why he did, and we’re delighted to have him back.”
Welcome back, Matt!
