Hinckley AFC’s first new addition of the summer is that of former Division One title-winning striker Mitchell Piggon.
The experienced forward lifted the league trophy in 2022 with Atherstone Town, having hit 20 goals in 26 games towards their title push.
After leaving the Adders late last season having spent much of the campaign at Sheepy Road, he now makes the short journey along the A5 to link up with Hinckley.
Having burst onto the scene with Nuneaton Griff a decade ago, Piggon has spent much of the intervening years at step four with Bedworth United.
He had spells away from The Oval with the likes of Daventry Town, Coalville Town, Rugby Town and Romulus, at steps four and five, and continued to find the net at higher levels.
After spending the best part of three unbroken seasons back at Bedworth again, Piggon left the Greenbacks in October 2021 to join Atherstone and was prolific up front to help them to the title, remaining with them in the Premier Division last season until deciding to leave in March.
He also helped the Adders to the FA Vase quarter-finals last season and scored twice when they beat step four Leek Town in the FA Cup.
