Hinckley AFC play our penultimate match of the regular league season with the short trip to Coventry Copsewood on Saturday.
AFC go to manager Joe Conneely’s former club knowing that a win would secure a top three finish and a home play-off semi-final in early May.
They’ll hope to continue their impressive recent run, with last week’s stalemate against Bilston Town the only draw among a good winning sequence.
With just a pair of away games left, at Copsewood and then Smethwick Rangers next Saturday, Hinckley’s season is one of few to extend beyond the original finish date. Smethwick, Ashby Ivanhoe and AFC Bridgnorth are the only other sides to play beyond this Saturday.
This weekend is Copsewood’s final game of the season, and they sit 13th with 46 points from their 39 games. They are finishing strongly, unbeaten in four and have scored four in each of their last two games. Bryan Kohyrelon is their leading scorer this season with 12.
As well as the reverse league fixture, the sides met in the League Cup at Kirkby Road earlier this season. Hinckley won of those games and will be hoping for another to secure home advantage in the semi-final.
Copsewood play at Allard Way, Coventry, CV3 1JP.
