Hinckley AFC have completed a deal for midfield player Sam Ellis on dual registration from Sutton Coldfield Town.
The attack-minded central player has been at Coles Lane since the summer, featuring in most of their squads this season albeit with limited starts.
He’s chipped in with a couple of goals for Sutton Coldfield at step four, with much of the 20-year-old’s game time coming as a substitute.
As such, manager Joe Conneely has brought in the player who he worked with at Coventry Copsewood three seasons ago to give him more match time, and add quality to his squad.
He said: “I had Sam at Copsewood when he was 17 and he was excellent. He’s an attacking midfielder who loves getting on the ball as much as he can.
“He’s developed his game into a really bright young player and will be a massive boost for us going forward.”
Having spent the two covid-hit seasons with Copsewood, he netted eight times in 40 games for them across those two shortened campaigns.
He joined Heather St John’s in the summer of 2021, playing 36 times and scoring nine goals to help them finish sixth in the United Counties Premier North, and he followed manager Dave Stringer to Sutton Coldfield in the summer.
Sam is available to make his debut in today’s match at Haughmond, thanks to Sutton Coldfield helping to ensure the deal went through in time.
Welcome to Hinckley, Sam!
