Hinckley AFC will target an 11th consecutive home win when they welcome Shawbury United to Kirkby Road on Monday evening.
After Saturday’s thrilling comeback win at Wolves Sporting, Joe Conneely’s charges have notched up seven wins on the bounce to move into the play-off spots.
That win at Hazel Lane was their third in a row away but it has been their home form that has been most impressive ahead of a return to Kirkby Road against Shawbury.
Hinckley’s record at home has been perfect since the FA Cup defeat to Wolves Casuals in August and they’ll look to continue that against a resurgent Shawbury.
But to do it, they’ll have to stop someone who used to score on a regular basis wearing the red and blue of AFC. Marco Adaggio netted 48 times in 60 games for Hinckley from 2014 to 2016 and now performs a similar job for Shawbury, having scored six in nine starts. Another ex-AFC player, James Bennett-Tindall, also plays there.
Adaggio’s arrival has coincided with an upturn in form for the Shropshire side, who were second bottom at one stage but have now lifted themselves into 16th.
Bennett-Tindall scored in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Heath Hayes, while three of their last six games have ended in 1-0 wins.
