Hinckley AFC and Paget Rangers go head-to-head for the second time in four days with tomorrow’s Isuzu FA Vase clash at Kirkby Road.
Monday’s league encounter between the sides was an entertaining watch as Hinckley ran out 2-1 winners to record their second straight win.
It condemned Paget to their first defeat of the season and they’ll look to bounce back in this break from league action.
Round two will see Hinckley looking for a repeat of Monday as they scored two quickfire goals in the second half to earn all three points.
For Paget, they’ll want to take momentum from the stoppage time Harry Jackson penalty that was too late to salvage anything from the league encounter.
It’ll be the second time Hinckley and Paget have met in the Vase. The previous occasion came in November 2016 when AFC ran out 4-1 winners at Paget’s then-home at Boldmere St Michaels. Ryan Seal hit a hat-trick in that second round tie on Hinckley’s best ever run to the last 16.
Should the scores be level after 90 minutes, the match will go straight to penalties with no extra time and no replays in this season’s competition. The winners of the tie will face our former league rivals, Stafford Town, in the second qualifying round on 24th September.
