Keith’s Walk All Over Cancer challenge

Club director Keith Hookham is taking on a walking challenge this month to support Cancer Research UK.

This March, he’s walking 10,000 steps a day throughout the month to help beat cancer. A week in, he’s going strong and amassed nearly 27,000 steps yesterday.

He was inspired to take on the month-long challenge after hearing the sad news that a work colleague passed away having been in palliative care.

Keith also has other personal reasons for taking on the challenge. He said: “This is also for my dad and mum who were taken way too soon. It was the 18th anniversary of my mum’s passing recently and that, as well as losing a work colleague to cancer, made me want to take on the challenge.

“It’s also in memory of of fellow supporter Marek Portland’s mum, club legends Simon Blyth and Ray Baggott and anyone else affected by this horrendous disease.”

After strolling past his initial fundraising target of £250, Keith is now aiming for £500 and is well on the way to achieving that.
