Hinckley AFC will target an 11th straight win when they welcome Clifton All Whites to Kirkby Road on Tuesday evening.
Hinckley’s club record run of ten in a row has seen them move top of the United Counties Division One table.
Now they start the final quarter of the season with a meeting with in-form Clifton.
Kyle Stovell, who missed a penalty against Hinckley in October, remains Clifton’s leading scorer with six. He has since joined Eastwood but recent signings Kieran Cummings and Calrick Dunkley both have five in less than ten games.
That reverse fixture was poised at 2-2 when Stovell missed the penalty at Green Lane, before a late double turned the match Hinckley’s way. Tyson Knight scored a brace on that occasion.
Manager Courtney Belford expects a different type of game on the Kirkby Road 3G: “It was a tough game away there back in October, on another night they could have won.
“It’s a bigger pitch and a 3G, theirs was quite narrow and not the best pitch on that night.
“We’ve been good at home but this is another tough game, as every game will be from now on. We’ve watched Clifton over the last few weeks so we know what their strengths are and we’ve got to pick the best team to beat them.”
The All Whites had won five in a row before Radford brought that run to an end by beating them 1-0 last time out.
But it’s a run that has seen them rise up the table. Of their last 17 games, they have picked up maximum points in ten.
They were second from bottom in mid-September but have since moved up to 13th, and solidly into mid-table.
Harry Sawyer, Liam Cairns and Joe Cairns could all make home debuts for Hinckley after joining from Coventry United.
